In keeping with the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s Maritime Strategic Plan and Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King’s vision of enhanced mission effectiveness in regards to border protection against transnational security threats; crewmembers of His Majesty’s Bahamian Ship KAMALAMEE under the Command of Lieutenant Patrick Lightfoot intercepted a 37ft American registered Contender vessel (FL5290TF) with 67 kilos of suspected cocaine onboard approximately 18 nautical miles North of Black Point, Exuma this afternoon (13 Sept. 22).The detained craft and occupants were cautioned and the vessel taken into custody of HMBS KAMALAMEE and are currently enroute to His Majesty’s Bahamian Ship Coral Harbour to be turned over to the relevant authorities for further processing.In the execution of its mandate and missions, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force continues to remain vigilant and strategically positioned in its fight against transnational criminal activity throughout the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
