Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Leander Albury gave his final address to members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force during a morning colors ceremony held at the Coral Harbour Base on November 23, 2022.CPO Albury enlisted as a Marine Recruit on 14 April 1997 as a member of Entry 32. During his time in service, he has served in the Squadron and Engineering Departments where he found his niche as an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician. His 25 years of dedicated service and sacrifice were acknowledged by Base Engineering Officer, Lieutenant Commander Nevada Bain who reflected on the positive impact Chief Petty Officer Albury left behind and imparted words of encouragement as he transitions into a new phase of life. In his farewell address, CPO Albury humbled by the presentation stated that although his journey was not an easy one, it was a privilege to grace the deck of Coral Harbour Base. As he too left words of encouragement, he also stated that during his tenure he focused mainly on molding individuals and now sees his mark on the organization in a number of those he trained. During the brief ceremony, CPO Albury was given ‘three cheers’ of chorus from the Officers and Marines present followed by Captain Coral Harbour, Captain Glenn McPhee presenting CPO Albury with his discharge certificate.
