Royal Bahamas Defence Force personnel attached to the Force’s Southern Command recently donated several books to a local library on the island of Great Inagua.

The books were presented by Sub Lieutenant Danielle Morley and her team of Marines stationed on the island on behalf of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Tellis Bethel. The books outlined historical facts about the Bahamas’ history and culture. Receiving the items at the Erickson’s Public Library and Museum on the island was Mrs. Veba Palacious, who serves as the clerk.

The library, which was constructed in 1995, serves the community’s needs with reading and research tools. Mrs. Palacious was grateful for the reading tools and expressed thanks to Commander Defence Force and his Officers and Marines for their generosity.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force continues to assist in preparing future leaders while guarding the heritage of The Bahamas.
