Braving the blazing southern sun, the synchronized swarms of sandflies and the wasp-sized mosquitoes, a three-member team from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Base Maintenance Team has spent the last eight plus weeks effecting repairs and renovations to some buildings at HMBS Matthew Town.

Leading Mechanic Wayde Jones was responsible for the electrical and plumbing aspects, Leading Mechanic Clinton Bowleg completed the tiling and Able Seaman Isaac Coakley’s duties were masonry related. All assisted with carpentry details and the three have just about completed their work on a two room cabin meant to house a crew of Airwing that will be stationed there from time to time.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force continues its thrust towards self-sufficiency and improving working conditions for its loyal employees.
