Defence Headquarters, 12 NOV. ‘23 (RBDF): The BAF Global Group, under the leadership of Mrs. Cecilia Cooper and her marketing team, joined forces with sponsors and contributors, including the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, to observe November as Diabetes Awareness Month. As part of this initiative, the second Annual “Dance For Diabetes” took place on Saturday, November 11, 2024, starting at 0630 hrs at Goodmans Bay.

The primary objective of the event was to raise awareness and disseminate crucial information about diabetes to the public. The Royal Bahamas Defence Force, represented by the Physical Training Instructors and the Fitness Aerobic Team, played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the occasion.

Led by Petty Officer Denise Oliver, Leading Woman Aniska Bonaby, and Able Seaman Frederick Russell, the Fitness Aerobic Team orchestrated a dynamic array of aerobic dance sessions featuring Zumba, Soca, and Bahamian music. The captivating performances had the enthusiastic crowd on their feet, yearning for more.

The event garnered significant attendance and support from individuals of all ages, underscoring the community’s commitment to promoting health awareness and wellness.

Under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond E. King, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force exemplifies its commitment to be a responsible corporate citizenship through a range of extensive outreach initiatives and projects. These endeavors aim to strengthen community relations, positively impact individuals, and contribute to the development of thriving communities.
