Commander Defence Force’s Management and Leadership Symposium for newly promoted personnel ended recently after weeks of insightful presentations at the Defence Force Coral Harbour Base. Under the theme: “Succession Planning: Developing and Training Future Leaders”, the symposium, which began March 2, 2022, lasted four (4) weeks, and was designed to promote continuous training and professional development amongst the newly promoted Officers and Senior Enlisted.Each of the four (4) groups (Senior Officers, Junior Officers, Warrant Officers, and Chief Petty Officers) were given 3 full days to reinforce their understanding of leadership and management in their new roles and participate in constructive discussions.Throughout the seminar, participants heard from guest presenters from The Ministry of National Security, The Ministry of Finance, The National Insurance Board, National Health Insurance Authority, Bahamas Customs Department, and The United States Embassy, along with other in-house Defence Force presenters covering a wide gamut of topics. Commodore, Dr. Raymond King’s strategic goal is to develop a Military organization that has a diverse field of knowledge sharing and continuous exchange throughout the various ranks and rates within the Defence Force.
