The Royal Bahamas Engineering Department held an award and certificate presentation at HMBS Coral Harbour Base on 24 October 2022, where marines were recognized for training courses and performance in the Engineering Department. Presenting the awards was Captain Coral Harbour, Captain Glenn McPhee, accompanied by Officers, Warrant Officers and Senior Rates of the Engineering, Squadron and Administration sections and Apostle Raymond Wells, RBDF Chaplin.RBDF personnel received certificates for the successful completion of the Caterpillar Marine Diesel Engines- Ship Systems Training Course and Safety Training Course. The content for each training module was prepared and tailored to the specific systems and equipment onboard Damen built vessels and related maintenance guidelines. Receiving the Technical Training Class 01/22 Award was M/M Maxwell Moncur (1st place), M/M Trevon Brown (2nd place) and A/M Rashad Humes (3rd place). The Technical Training award is awarded to marines who demonstrate outstanding performance during their technical training. The ceremony concluded with the awarding of the Engineering Marine of the Quarter to M/M Demargio Laing. Laing was selected as the marine of the quarter for July – September 2022 for his diligent work ethic in the Engineering Department.
