Headquarters, 05 FEB. ‘24: Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King recentlyattended the 4th United Kingdom and Caribbean Heads of Defence Conference 2024 in Guyana, whichbrought together military leaders from the Caribbean and the United Kingdom.The conference, during its official commencement ceremony, was declared open by His Excellency, thePresident, and Commander-in-Chief, Dr. Irfaan Ali, who drew emphasis on the importance ofcollaborative initiatives such as this event, especially in light of the ever-evolving global landscape.The event which was led and hosted by the Guyana Defence Force and the United Kingdom, was attendedby other countries such as Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Belize, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados,among others.The conference was focused on issues of regional security, regional cooperation, monitoring progress inkey areas, and defining future focus areas.Commodore King, who is committed to promoting enhanced collaboration between the Royal BahamasDefence Force (RBDF) and its regional partners, recognizes that these events are crucial in providing anecessary platform to encourage open dialogue and discussions. These alliances and partnerships, with anintegrated approach, are effective at maintaining regional safety and stability. The RBDF remainscommitted to the security of our nation.
