Defence Headquarters 16 SEP ’23: The Minister of National Security the Honorable Wayne Munroe K.C, M.P along with Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King and Senior Commander Fredrick Brown attended the Latin American and Caribbean United Nations Peacekeeping Conference held in Buenos Aires, Argentina on September 11- 12, 2023. 

The primary objective of this conference is to establish a multilateral-regional forum dedicated to United Nations Peacekeeping operations. Distinguished leaders initiated discussions addressing the United Nations’ role and its historical counterparts’ significant contributions to regional missions. Among the conference’s noteworthy achievements were the consensus reached on a comprehensive framework for collaborative UN missions, encompassing not only Latin America but also the Caribbean region. Furthermore, valuable institutional knowledge and best practices were shared to enhance the capabilities and effectiveness of peacekeeping missions, thereby minimizing potential risk factors.

These discussions not only serve as a positive trajectory for catapulting The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF), but strengthens and forges positive international relations to better serve our nation and the region. 

Commodore King is steadfast in his commitment to fostering enhanced collaboration between The RBDF and local law enforcement agencies, as well as regional partners. Through joint operations and proactive information sharing, these strategic alliances serve as force multipliers, effectively addressing both existing and potential challenges.
