Defence Headquarters, 30 JAN’ 24 (RBDF): The Royal Bahamas Defence Force took to the streets of Nassau on Saturday, January 27, 2024, to participate in the 4th Annual Dr. Bernard Nottage Bain and Grants Town Fun Run Walk and Health Expo. Members of the organization joined forces to promote fitness and community well-being in this exciting event.
The event kicked off at the Southern Recreation Grounds on Cockburn Street, creating a vibrant atmosphere that resonated through the Grant Town Community. Runners and walkers embarked on a scenic route, covering various areas including Blue Hill Road, Meeting Street, Nassau Street, West Bay Street, and Market Street before concluding back at the Southern Recreation Grounds.
Among the distinguished guests were Minister Wade Watson, M.P. of Bain and Grants Town, Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King, and Mrs. Portia Nottage, the esteemed wife of the late Dr. Bernard Nottage. Their presence added a touch of honor and support to the event, emphasizing its importance in promoting a healthy lifestyle and community engagement.
The Fun Run Walk and Health Expo were not only a celebration of physical activity but also a platform to raise awareness about health and wellness. Participants had the opportunity to explore the Health Expo, featuring informative booths, interactive activities, and expert advice on various aspects of well-being.
