Defence Headquarters, 25 July. ‘23 (RBDF): On Monday, July 25, 2023, at HMBS Coral Harbour, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, in collaboration with the United States Northern Command (US-NORTHCOM), successfully hosted the Trident Guardian Disaster Preparedness tabletop exercise.
The primary objectives of the Trident Guardian exercise were to evaluate and refine the organization’s processes and preparedness concerning the deployment of disaster response. Additionally, it aimed to establish a clear support request and response process, facilitating streamlined communication channels between the involved entities. The ultimate goal was to enable swift mobilization of resources during critical situations.
During disasters, swift mobilization of resources during critical situations is vital for maintaining operational readiness, gaining strategic advantage, and safeguarding personnel. Quick and efficient deployment of troops, equipment, and support ensures timely response to threats, enhances mission success, and minimizes vulnerability, ultimately preserving national security.
Commander Sonia Miller, who leads the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s Disaster Preparedness Unit, was present at the exercise, alongside representatives from the United States Northern Command.
