Defence Headquarters, 20 MAY ‘23 (RBDF): Deputy Commander Defence Force, Captain Shonedel Pinder, Officers and Marines of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force paid their last respects to the Late Lorenzo Anthony Minus “Ray” Jr. at his State Recognized Funeral held on May 19, 2023 at Kemp Road Ministries.
Deputy Prime Minister, The Honorable Chester Cooper in his remarks acknowledged Minus’ trailblazing accomplishments and unwavering commitment to nation building through the sport of boxing, noting that his legacy left behind a footprint that we can all follow and build upon.
The service officiated by Dr. Rev Ivan Butler concluded at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens where a full military honors ceremony was conducted.
Amongst those in attendance were the Minister of Education, The Hon. Glenys Hanna Martin, Minister of Youth Sports and Culture, The Hon. Mario Bowleg, members of the Bahamas Boxing Federation and representatives of all uniform branches.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force extends a sincere and heartfelt condolence to the Minus family on behalf of the Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King, Officers and Marines. May God’s continued grace and divine covering be with you during your time of bereavement.
