As a part of Commander Defence Force, Commodore, Dr. Raymond King’s strategic plans for strengthening community relations and the outreach throughout the communities, the RBDF Engineering Department recently assisted the Bahamas Association for the Physically Disabled (BAPD) School with maintenance work.
Led by Deputy Base Engineering Officer, Senior Lieutenant Nevada Bain, the Officers and Marines of the Electrical Unit and Air Condition Unit banded together at the school on Tuesday, August 31 to conduct maintenance and repairs to electrical fixtures at the building.
In preparation for the new school year, the team of engineers utilized their technical expertise by replacing the old lighting fixtures with the new LED lights and servicing the air-conditioned units there. Administrator Mrs. Linda Smith expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the work that was carried out.
Lieutenant Commander Gordon Roberts currently serves as the RBDF Base Engineering Officer, and the men and women of that section continue to play vital roles in the maintenance upkeep of all RBDF’s fleet, vehicles, and buildings. This latest effort is a part of fulfilling the Commander Defence Force’s intent of strengthening and maintaining a favorable relationship with the community.
